Let me introduce myself-Justin Pridham, owner and operator, along with my wife Treena.
I created this business with one clear purpose-to help save lives on our roads in this beautiful country we call home.
Your safety as a traveller is our top priority. We want you to drive with confidence, knowing your brakes are performing efficiently and your vehicle and trailer are correctly balanced with correct weights and distribution.
We are committed to ensuring your vehicle and trailer meet all relevant legal requirements, so you can travel safely, confidently, and within the law.
More than 70% of the vehicle and trailer weighs we have completed have been found to be unsafe and overweight.
Correct weights and weight distribution is extremely important, did you know it relieves fuel usage, engine overworking, reduces wear on your vehicle and trailer extending lifespan.

It may be at your place, a road or area, sports ground nearby. We choose not to post all weighs on social media unless requested by you. We respect privacy.

Trailer Weighing
We provide professional, accurate mobile on-site weighing for trailers of various sizes up to 8 tonne. Whether it's a caravan, camper trailer, food trailer, horse float, boat trailer etc. Don't Be Weighedown is here to calculate the weight of your trailer to ensure you and the family are safe and compliant for towing, recommending evenly distributing weights across axles and tow ball. Our aim is to make you and your family feel safe, have peace of mind and enjoy your travelling.
Commercial Vehicle Weighing
Our experienced team offers accurate and efficient weighing services for commercial vehicles. Ensure your small truck, van or ute is within the manufacturers legal weight requirements. Distributing weight equally over each axle, keeping the heavier items low. Avoiding substantial fines, demerit points and insurance being cancelled.
WEIGHTS
GVM - Gross Vehicle Mass: The maximum a vehicle can weigh when fully loaded as specified by the manufacturer. If towing the GVM also includes the TBM Tow Ball Mass.
ATM - Aggregate Trailer Mass: Total weight of the trailer fully loaded. Including the tow ball mass.
GTM - Gross Trailer Mass: Weight of the fully loaded trailer on the axles when it is coupled to the tow vehicle. The actual GTM is less than the ATM as some of the weight is on the tow vehicle.
TBM - Tow Ball Mass: Also known as tow ball weight, tow ball load or tow ball download. The proportion of towing weights applied to towing vehicles. Amount of weight the fully loaded trailer imposes on the tow bar of the tow vehicle. *Aim 8% to 12% of the ATM.
Tare Mass or Tare Weight: The manufacturer's weight when leaving the factory, before any modifications, fluids or add ons.
GCM - Gross Combination Mass: Maximum fully loaded weight of towing vehicle and trailer / caravanwhen hitched together. Including all passengers.
Payload: A vehicle's is the maximum amount off weight it can carry safely.
FGAWR - Front Gross Axle Weight Rating: The total weight on the front axle as specified by the manufacturer.
RGAWR - Rear Gross Axle Weight Rating: The total weight on the rear axle as specified by the Manufacturer.

WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION: is one of the main essential things to take into consideration for towing safely. How the weight is allocated about the trailer or caravan and establishing how the weight is applied to the tow vehicle. Another factor is realistic loading in a caravan. Installing heavy items low over the axles, medium items at a medium to low level and light items above. It has huge impacts on traction, braking and steering. When towing, altering the vehicles weight is unavoidable. Nonetheless balancing the weight as best as possible is essential for safe towing. By placing too much weight to the front of the trailer, the weight over the rear axles of the tow vehicle increases causing the front end to become light, reducing the steering and braking effectiveness. Taking into consideration too much weight at the rear of the trailer introduces dangerous handling characteristics, examples being swaying and snaking which invite a new set of issues.

Public Weighbridges will give you a total weight and be a great guide. Unfortunately not so perfect for the smaller vehicles and caravans etc. The public weighbridges are designed for trucks, truck and trailer combinations which usually weigh in twenty kilogram increments. Excellent rounding for a truck load of gravel, metals etc.
Our Nuweigh MDC 221 Wireless Mobile System is calibrated to two tonne per pad. Calibrated weight wise to the kilogram. Receiving the peace of mind accurate result and guide. We can weigh up to eight tonne.
An Overloaded, incorrectly weight distributed accident has the likelihood to result in the following: A destroyed car and caravan. Insurance voided. Regrettably a fatality. A possibility of being charged with dangerous driving and cause of death, resulting in a jail term.
